The official announcement by Ferrari of the new F458 Italia means buyers can now place deposits and get on the waiting list for the successor to the F430.
There is no doubt that the 458 will raise the bar in its marketplace, and Ferrari will distance itself from the Lamborghini Gallardo and Audi R8 V10. The importance of an early delivery cannot be under estimated, as early 430's were making premiums of up to £30,000 over list price, so clearly the best time to own a car like this is at the beginning of its producton run as depreciation will be minimal.
We contacted a number of Ferrari dealers regarding the lead times on the F458, and got an interesting response. After a high rate of drop out on Ferrari California orders due to the current state of the UK economy, fewer speculative purchases and the uncertainty of the popularity of the new formula, Ferrari dealers have raised deposits and are reporting an unusually low order take for the new car. Ok, good Ferrari customers will always be fast-tracked, but now is the time to order your new F458 Italia - waiting lists are relatively short and the new car is bound to be a sure thing.
Our advice - order now.
