Noble M600 details released

Details of the long-awaited Noble M600 have been released, and they make for very interesting reading.

The expected £75,000 price tag has been kicked into touch, with the M600 now expected to retail for around £200,000.

The new Noble M600 has been fitted with a 4.4 litre, twin-turbocharged Volvo V8, providing up to 650 bhp and a with a kerb weight of around 1250 kg, it boasts a whopping 520 bhp per tonne - similar to a Veyron or Caterham R500. Performance? The Noble M600 should knock of 60 mph in 3 seconds, and power to 100 mph in just 6.5, with a top speed of 225 mph. Torque figures are also very impressive, producing 604 lb ft at a low 3800 rpm. So, in a nutshell, performance is where it should be for a £200,000 car. Drivers will be able to select one of three different ECU settings to deliver 450, 550 or 650 brake horse power dependent on their requirements. Noble have also shunned ABS and any electronic stability programs (although it is fitted with traction control) to enhance the driver experience. The Noble M600 will only be available with a manual transmission, for the time being at least.

In summary then - stunning performance, potentially a bit of a handful, and very expensive although the performance and technology is roughly in keeping with the price, although they do appear to have used some Mini switchgear (see pic below). Will it sell? Who knows, but good luck to the Noble M600 team. The car will be revealed at a launch event at this year's Goodwood Revival, with a dealer network under development and deliveries expected to start in November.
